Background: On October 31, 2017, bids were received for the Granada High School and Livermore High School Stadium Improvements Projects - Increment 2 (Projects). On November 14, 2017, our Board of Trustees approved a contract with Schultz Industries, Inc., dba Sturdisteel Company for the Projects.
Status Schultz Industries, Inc., dba Sturdisteel Company has completed the Projects on schedule and within budget. The Bond Program Department is submitting Resolution No. 001-19/20, Acceptance of the Granada High School and Livermore High School Stadium Improvements Projects - Increment 2 to our Board of Trustees for approval, and is requesting Board of Trustees' direction to file a Notice of Completion (NOC) with the Alameda County Recorder's Office. Filing the Notice of Completion notifies the subcontractors and suppliers that the projects are complete, and that they should have been paid by the general contractor. Businesses owed money on these projects have time to file stop notices which restrict our District from paying any final retention amounts to the general contractor until the expiration of the required 35-day time period. Should there be any outstanding stop notices on the projects, our District will withhold payment from the general contractor as appropriate.
Fiscal Impact The original contract amount was one million nine hundred twenty four thousand dollars ($1,924,000.00) with approved net change orders of sixty eight thousand five hundred forty four and 19/100 dollars ($68,544.19). The final contract amount is one million nine hundred ninety two thousand five hundred forty four and 19/100 dollars ($1,992,544.19). This is a Measure J funded Project.
Superintendent's Recommendation: The Superintendent's recommendation is that our Board of Trustees approve Resolution No. 001-19/20, Acceptance of the Granada High School and Livermore High School Stadium Improvements Projects - Increment 2 - Notice of Completion.
