Quick Summary / Abstract:
Background: Board Policy requires specific authorization in each instance where employees travel out of state on District business.
Status Four Livermore High School (LHS) staff members respectfully request Board approval to attend the Annual California Association of Directors of Activities (CADA) Convention in Nevada, March 4-6, 2020. The LHS staff will attend workshops that address Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) State-driven goals by featuring programs that support student engagement, highlighting school climate and connectedness, promoting unity, and helping to prepare students for success in college and in the workplace. The staff will be bringing back fresh ideas, information, and resources to share with the LHS staff. There is no comparable conference in California.
Fiscal Impact The expense associated with the professional development including classroom substitutes, air travel, lodging, and convention expense will be paid using LHS Associated Student Body Funds (ASB).
Superintendent's Recommendation: Approve the Out-of-State Professional Development for Four Staff Members to Attend the Annual California Association of Directors of Activities Convention in Nevada, March 4-6, 2020.
