Quick Summary / Abstract:
Background: The Measure J Bond Program Department conducted a public bid for the Livermore High School Temporary Parking Lot Project (Project). At the September 17, 2019, Board Meeting, our Board of Trustees approved a contract with the lowest responsible bidder, Gradetech, Inc., for the Project.
Status Gradetech, Inc. has completed the Project on schedule and within budget. The Bond Program Department is submitting Resolution No. 108-19/20, Acceptance of the Livermore High School Temporary Parking Lot Project to our Board of Trustees for approval, and is requesting Board of Trustees' direction to file a Notice of Completion (NOC) with the Alameda County Recorder's Office. Filing the Notice of Completion notifies the subcontractors and suppliers that the project is complete, and that they should have been paid by the general contractor. Businesses owed money on this project have time to file stop notices which restrict our District from paying any final retention amounts to the general contractor until the expiration of the required 35-day time period. Should there be any outstanding stop notices on the project, our District will withhold payment from the general contractor as appropriate.

On April 3, 2020, our Board of Trustees voted unanimously in favor of Resolution No. 051-19/20, Designating Public Works Projects as Essential Government Function and Delegating Authority to Designate Further Public Works Projects as Essential Government Function. This project has been designated as an essential government function public works project.
Fiscal Impact The original contract amount was five hundred forty-one thousand nine hundred eighty-seven dollars ($541,987.00) with an approved deductive change order of seventy-seven thousand five hundred twenty-seven dollars (-$77.527.00). The total contract amount is four hundred sixty-four thousand four hundred sixty dollars ($464,460.00). This is a Measure J funded Project.
