Quick Summary / Abstract: Our Board is being asked to vote for one candidate in the Run-Off Election, to the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Delegate Assembly for Subregion 7-B, Alameda County. The elected delegate will serve a two-year term, beginning April 1, 2020 - March 31, 2022.
Background: Recall that at the February 18, 2020 Board Meeting, our Board voted for three candidates running for the Delegate Assembly. The ballot was returned to CSBA by the deadline. The members of the Delegate Assembly Election Committee met on March 24, 2020, to count and certify the ballots for membership on the CSBA Delegate Assembly. A tie vote resulted in a run-off election in our Region, 7-B. Due to COVID-19 and the Shelter-in-Place State orders, the CSBA office closed. On March 28, 2020, the Board of Directors postponed the runoff election until it became practicable for staff to mail out the ballots.

On June 5, 2020, LVJUSD received the 2020 CSBA Delegate Assembly Run-off Election, Region 7-B, ballot from CSBA, that necessitates Board action.

Board members have received the biographical sketches for the nominees for the run-off election.
Status Please note that the Original Run-Off Ballot states that the Board is to vote for no more than 3 candidates. On June 9th, our District was informed by CSBA that the CSBA Delegate Assembly Run-Off Ballot contained a clerical error. The email received instructed our Board to vote for no more than 1 candidate (not 3 candidates). CSBA staff apologized for any possible confusion. The candidates on the Run-Off Ballot are:
