Background: To best support our Roadmap to Reopening Instructional Plan, it is necessary to provide a Chromebook or device for each student, as sharing of physical instructional materials is discouraged and teaching and learning is greatly enhanced by our digital content and platform. In addition, teachers must have up-to-date laptop computers to deliver instruction with innovative and flexible models.
Status Staff recommends the purchase of 2100 Chromebooks to provide a one-to-one ratio of Chromebooks for each student within our District, and 225 laptops for teachers to replace laptops that have been in use for five or more years.

We have received cost proposal for each:

2100 Chromebooks $596,006.25
225 Teacher Laptops $206,087.14

TOTAL $802,093.39
Fiscal Impact These costs will be covered through our California Restricted Lottery Instructional Materials Allocation Funds and the technology allocation from the Measure G parcel tax.
