Background: Board Policy requires specific authorization in each instance where employees travel out of state on District business.
Status One Counselor respectfully requests Board approval to attend the 2019 National Migrant Education Conference in Louisiana, May 1- 4, 2019. The conference will focus on the Federal Education Program for Migratory Children under Title I Part C and the Parent and Family Engagement component under Title I Part A. The counselor will share information and resources with the members of our Migrant Education staff and Title I schools. There is no comparable professional development offered in California.
Fiscal Impact Conference and transportation expenses will be paid using designated federal Title I funds and a professional development grant received from the Livermore Education Association.
Superintendent's Recommendation: Approve the Out-of-State Professional Development for One Staff Member to Attend the National Migrant Education Conference in Louisiana, May 1 – 4, 2019.
