CUPCCAA Contract -Mendenhall Fencing Add 1 version.pdf
Quick Summary / Abstract: The exterior doors and hardware at the Granada High School main gymnasium building need to be replaced. Staff would like to complete during Summer 2019.
Background: The exterior doors and hardware at the Granada High School main gymnasium building need replacement. The existing doors are made of wood and metal. Staff plans to replace these doors with Special-Lite fiberglass-reinforced polyester (FRP) doors with aluminum stiles and rails. These are proven-tough doors that are used commonly in schools and are a preferred solution. Staff also plans to replace the old door hardware with new hardware per our District standards. Staff has solicited bids from all C-28 or C-61/D-28 door and lock license holders on our California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA) list.
Status Three bids were received and RQI was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a price of $104,500.00. Staff requests to enter into a contract with RQI to replace 28 doors and hardware at the GHS large gymnasium building. Work would begin as soon as school is out for the summer.
Fiscal Impact The contracted cost with RQI will be $104,500.00. This expenditure will be funded by Measure J.
Superintendent's Recommendation: The Superintendent's recommendation is that our Board of Trustees approve the contract with RQI to replace 28 doors and hardware at the Granada High School main gymnasium building.
