Quick Summary / Abstract: Staff will provide a summary report on our enrollment, staffing and recruitment efforts for our District.
Background: In the spring of each year, our District projects enrollment and staffing for each school for the following year by using the prior three years’ enrollment figures, historical attrition, new enrollment rates, new housing starts, attendance at the Transitional Kindergarten / Kindergarten enrollment fair, and requests for transfer.

After enrollment projections have been made, staffing allocations are determined, open positions are identified, and recruitment efforts begin. Because of the identified teacher shortage State-wide, early recruitment and hiring are critical to meeting the needs of the Livermore student population.

Following an unusually large increase in student enrollment during the 2016-2017 school year, which prompted the re-opening of an elementary school, enrollment across our District has been stable for the past two years and is expected to continue the pattern of incremental growth into the 2019-2020 school year.
Status Attached is the enrollment, staffing and recruitment summary report.
Fiscal Impact There is no impact to the General Fund.
